Family Counseling is an effective way to create change in any family system. This process involves all members who participate in the family unit to examine how their roles influence mutually reinforcing interactions and learn better ways to interact with each other in order to resolve conflicts. Most families have unique dynamics that cause problems periodically and family counseling helps to discover those underlying problems and help each family member identify how they’ve contributed to the problem rather than focusing on one individual as holding the blame. Depending on the age of family members this can be accomplished through multiple modalities, including play therapy, art therapy, experiential therapy, or traditional talk therapy.
