Domestic Violence Survivor Program
One of the specialty areas offered at Insight Services is therapy for survivors of domestic violence.
Insight Services’ Domestic Violence Survivor program offers the opportunity for clients to engage in both a one-on-one setting with a therapist knowledgeable in power-and-control dynamics and safety planning, and in a group setting to gain support from other survivors of domestic violence and learn in-depth about the intricacies of these dynamics.
It is important to note, that although this agency validates victimization of domestic violence is not limited only to women, domestic violence survivor groups cannot be coed.
Therefore, groups offered at Insight Services with a domestic violence component are available for women only at this time. Individual sessions focused on survivor dynamics are offered to both men and women.
Healthy Relationships Group for Women
The Healthy Relationships Group for Women offered at Insight Services is a component of the Domestic Violence Survivor Program but is also available to any and all women who feel they may benefit from gaining healthy skills and perspectives related to their current or future relationships.
Both a traditional therapeutic process is utilized in this group as well as review of a curriculum supportive of facilitating healthy relationships.
This group covers topics of domestic violence dynamics to include the cycle of violence, forms of abuse, and domestic violence impacts on children.
It also covers topics specific to building and sustaining healthy relationships such as healthy communication, setting and withholding boundaries, and healthy conflict resolution.
Some discussion of relapse prevention from substance misuse concerns is integrated into this group, too, as sobriety is supportive of healthy, sustainable relationships.
I am not what happened to me.
I am what I choose to become.
