Level II (DUI) Education and Therapy Services

Insight Services offers both DUI Education and Therapy Services.

Level II Services are required by the courts and the Department of Motor Vehicles after clients have been charged with a driving-under-the-influence offense in the state of Colorado. Insight Services offers Education and Therapy in a group setting, as well as assistance with license reinstatement requirements. The requirements are as follows: 

Level II Education: 

12 weeks/24 hours

Level II Therapy:

Track A         21 weeks/42 hours

Track B         26 weeks/52 hours

Track C         34 weeks/68 hours

Track D         43 weeks/86 hours

Level II 4+ Program

In addition to offering Level II Education and Therapy, Insight Services also offers Level II 4+ DUI Track F treatment (4+). 

Four Plus is now the standard of care created by the Colorado Behavioral Health Administration (BHA), in conjunction with the Colorado Task Force on Drunk and Impaired Driving, in response to felony DUI law legislation passed in Colorado in 2015.

Individuals participating in Level II 4+ treatment are engaged for a minimum of 18 months and a minimum of 180 clinical contact hours. The program also includes Interlock Enhancement Counseling (IEC). IEC is an intervention required for 4+ clients who have alcohol ignition interlocks on their vehicles. It is evidence-based and combines Cognitive Behavioral Treatment with Motivational Interviewing/Motivational Enhancement.

The primary goals of IEC are to reduce the number of failed starts due to alcohol ingestion, to reduce and eliminate driving non-interlock equipped vehicles, and prevent DUI recidivism once the interlock is removed.
